Essentially, their site is not a blog; it's a news hub. One that gathers news from forums, newsletters, blogs (such as this one you're reading :p), and various other credible sources. Of course, the admin(s) of HYIPNews.com generate regular articles of their own every once in a while as well, but this article from Martin Eden, CEO of HYIPNews.com sums up their role in the industry pretty well.

HYIPNews.com appeared online in 2003. It has lived an interesting life, full of redesigns, improvements and even changes of teams. Now this project looks and functions exactly how it was initially planned to. It is finally a place where all important information from HYIP industry is gathered together. We write about all programs, about all important events and about everything that might help investors not to lose lots of money, meaning not to lose because of those lies which are everywhere. We also give all necessary tools to succeed in investing. Of course, there are many of those who offer advices, help and express their points of view; therefore we do not have an aim to monopolize this field.HYIPNews.com has different sorts of articles catering to different groups of investors. One such fine example is those who are starting out in the industry and not knowing which sites to rely on. HYIPNews.com provides regular, albeit somewhat new, column providing reviews of the scam/worst monitoring sites and blogs in the industry. (scam monitors and scam blogs) While the list of sites there is certainly not exhaustive, it is definitely heading in the right direction. Most newbies or neophytes in the industry are seeking a reliable source of information in order to steer themselves clear from scams. So, if the source they're relying on itself is a scam, where else could they turn to for help? Therefore, I really appreciate HYIPNews.com's effort to start something like that.
Many bloggers work in the market now. They provide investors with very valuable experience and their points of view. Debates and confrontations which help to make the world of high-yield investments more interesting also take place. There are also such projects as FlaxTalk, which successfully develops and is a blog, a monitor and a forum at the same time. It has its own original business idea, in which everyone can participate. This all was impossible to imagine a year ago and HYIPNews.com is one of the reasons why industry looks exactly like it does now.
Of course, this industry is not perfect. It is not a perfect world and unfortunately, we are one of the reasons why it is so. Our project is 7 years old but we started a real journalistic covering of events about a year ago. If that had happened three, four years ago, much earlier before bloggers came to the industry, we would be able to provide more investor with security and confidence now. These articles differ from the average review articles, and these seek to enlighten and educate, instead of adopting a more persuasive nature.
