16 April 2010 - What are HYIP Scripts?

Hi guys! As promised, today's a short post on HYIP scripts and the known (and not-commonly-known) facts about the scripts often used in the industry.

HYIP scripts are the underlying fundamentals of how a HYIP pays out, ie the payout, how the fund is distributed, and how much referral commission is paid. For a short period of time, I was confused between HYIP scripts and HYIP designs..Lol :p But after talking to several senior members and computer programmers, (yes it took several), my confusion is cleared: HYIP design/template is what you see when you load a site on your browser. For example the placement of banners, the text font, the size of text etc. HYIP script, however, is the inner functions of the site, for example how much you can invest (blocks of $5 maybe for Neversay) and how much referral commission is distributed.

At the moment, I can only come up with 2 of the most widely adopted scripts in the industry, namely: GoldCoders and Neversay. While most sites are using Goldcoders at the moment, such as ManorTrust, there are others who have chosen to either modify the script to suit their own taste, choose from Neversay or Gotenks, which are the most popular alternatives, and subsequently most secured alternative as well, to Goldcoders, or they simply utilize pirated copies from the Internet. As scripts are computer programs essentially, it is extremely easy to find pirated copies from the net at the moment. And due to the fact that a GoldCoders' script is highly accessible to public, there are many hackers who have exploited the security back doors for their own malicious intentions. This, in effect, leads to the essence of my today's post: pros and cons of different scripts.

Goldcoders

I believe most of you are familiar with Goldcoders' script, which looks like this:

The cons of using a GoldCoders' script is that there are many security back doors that are often exploited by hackers. As explained above, a copy of Goldcoders is accessible to anyone who has a computer and that has led to the exploitation of the script. Nonetheless, the team behind GoldCoders have put together some time and effort into improving it, which is now manifested in the more secured version that has been used in the more recently launched programs. While many still swear by the notion that Goldcoders = SCAM I personally think they have come to a point that the script itself is improved but the investors simply do not trust it due to its past bad track record. To those people, I would say, "Don't hate the game. Hate the players." Perhaps the script is highly hackable, but I think admins who plan to scam from the beginning simply choose to use such a reason as their escape route. One such notorious example is UnderWaterSurf. Even though they didn't use GoldCoders' script, but I know the hacking incident was purely a show put on by the two(or maybe just one) admins. I've been in numerous contacts with both admins when the site was online, and I have concrete reason to believe the admin is now running a scam blog that's promoting a scam site as if it were the Second GeniusFund. I will not name names here, but for those who are interested to know more you can send me an email and I will reveal it.

Goldcoders is also commonly used because of the many functions it offers. The script itself is really flexible, and you can almost do anything you want with it. From an admin's point of view, you can add a new plan, transfer funds, add payment processors, enable/disable instant payouts and much more. Notwithstanding the fact that other scripts may offer similar functionalities as well, it is just more economical to use Goldcoders because the admin can get all the functions he needs for a justified market retail price of $95 for the basic version, or $145 for the licensed version. Truth to be told, however, that either licensed or basic version is of the same quality. You're not getting substantially better-built script for merely $50 more, but instead you're getting the confidence of investors. The support for Goldcoders is basically non-existent, just as you would not expect LibertyReserve to assist you whenever you have problems with your LR account. Therefore, that's another few points to consider about Goldcoders.

Now while some scripts are technically more superior than the rest, in terms of functionality and efficiency, there is a very important factor that comes into an admin's mind, more important than functionality in fact, that is practicality. I personally have been in touch with a lot of admins, or should I say been contacted by admins, who have managed several programs in the past. While they often choose to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, I can guess who they are from the way they talk, the way they run programs, but I can't steadfastly claim who they are as I don't have enough evidence to prove it. As much as I hate scams, I can't justify myself accusing someone based on my own instincts. Nonetheless, most of these admins are proficient in, and familiar with, the using of Goldcoders as this script has been around for the longest time. As the saying goes, "You can't teach an old dog a new trick." This explains why a lot of programs are using Goldcoders despite its obvious flaws.

There are reports of GoldCoders leaving the back doors there so that they themselves can hack into the program at any time they wish and steal the money from the program. This is quite possible in my opinion as well because Goldcoders itself is not the most transparent site in the industry, and the only way to reach them is via email. If they were more articulate about these issues, perhaps people would perceive the script in a different light.

Here's a brief interview with Mark from www.goldcoders.com quoted from DreamTeamMoney:

Official Goldcoders answer submitted by IJ Administrator:

There is a lot of GoldCoders scripts can be found in the Internet
and some admins yells about they was hacked when use them.

Reason of such problems is using pirated script.

Developers of script did many things to protect script users since code of script was decoded.

But what pirates did? They inserted own backdoors and sell older
versions with older bugs for a few $.

Bugs and backdoors in pirated versions allow hackers steel money and all stones fall on GoldCoders name.

Why you see so many programs based on HYIP Manager - because it is the most featured
and easy to use script.

But if you want to feel safe with this script obtain it from developers only,
get lifetime updates (almost every week) and fast support.

Recap: GoldCoders has undergone many surgical hands to be the way it is right now, and I believe the security back doors have been addressed in the current . Despite that, admins choose to use such a script due to familiarity and the ease of escaping from responsibility by simply placing the blame on the script's security issues.

NeverSay

NeverSay is actually the name of a famous programmer, and he started writing scripts exclusively for autosurfs at first. Then he moved on, and started developing versions of his famous script for HYIP.

Neversay, in my opinion, is one of the more reliable scripts in the industry. There have been little to almost non-existent complaints about the script thus far. Security-wise, Neversay has done a great job at blocking out the claws of malicious hackers. Function-wise, Neversay is just as functional as Goldcoders, if not better. I've taken a glimpse into the control panel myself several days ago upon contacting Neversay for a demo version, and it looks pretty much the same as GoldCoders from there. Nonetheless, I'm not a technical person, so I can only comment on the outlook of the control panel, not the fundamentals of the script itself. In the near future, however, I will adopt a partner who's well-versed in these technical stuff so that he can share with you these things in further details.

Neversay is very good in many ways, especially on the visual front. A Neversay script was recently used in a program called SincerityIncome, or if you've not seen the program, I think Investimates used Neversay as well. A Neversay script usually allows only deposits in blocks of $5 or $10, and that's one of the many ways to tell whether it's a Neversay script or not.

The script is usually only available by contacting the programmer himself, but there are sites that sell Neversay as well. I've not seen a pirated copy of the script thus far, partly due to the fact that we can't verify whether or not it's a pirated copy, but hacking issues have been reduced to a minimum due to the programmer, Neversay's constant revision to his script. A stock copy of the script is available for around $120, whereas a customized version will set you back for around $220. Note that the prices are not confirmed with Neversay yet, but I will update this post in the event that he revises his price.

Admins who use Neversay usually do not run long-term programs for reasons unbeknownst to many investors. I've noticed that from quite a long time ago, and haven't had any chance to ask anyone why this is. One reasoning I received was long-term programs usually do not use premade scripts, and as Neversay is usually busy customizing scripts for other clients, most usually find their own programmers who can dedicate time towards maintaining and tweaking the script. Besides, some admins have used the same Goldcoders script for the most part of their "HYIP-running" career (yes there are admins who do this for a living), and they do not want to bother themselves with something they are unfamiliar with.

Recap: Neversay is a solid script with many functions that can be customized to suit your needs for a fee. The programmer has a good reputation for delivering solid services and good scripts, all while keeping the script at a reasonable price. Nonetheless, admins often opt for other scripts as they're unfamiliar and do not wish to re-engage in learning how to use a script.

And that's a very brief overview/description of some pros and cons of the two most commonly used scripts in the industry. There are definitely many more scripts that are used right now, but I'm just trying to deliver a simple message to you guys: know your site and understand what it's capable of doing. Just as you would know a Neversay script only allows deposits in blocks, you'll know when an admin is trying to deceive you into investing. I am just a blogger, not an admin of a HYIP program or anything, so I hope you have learned something from my short post today.

Thank you reading and I wish you good luck in your future HYIP adventures!

Update (7/10/2012):
There have been an influx of new scripts in the industry, one of the more famous ones is ProbizScript.

ProbizScript is a relatively new script, and yet it has managed to make a dent in the industry once dominated by GoldCoders. The script itself is visually pleasing, with flexibility that allows admins to customize to their hearts' content, and the price is affordable as well --  a licensed script is about $199.

Here's a screenshot of the user's back office:

It is easy to differentiate ProBizScript from GoldCoders due to the distinct layout, and also the table that displays the payment processors accepted.

One main advantage ProBizScript has over GoldCoders is that hacking issues are not common. In addition, the visual-aspects of it is astounding, and definitely a crowd wooer.

It's hard to find NeverSay scripts these days simply because the developer for the script has, apparently, disappeared from the industry! Nevertheless, if it does pop up in the industry every now and then, people are still really attracted to it, and more often that not, it always manages to raise some excitement in the industry.
